Sing to the Dawn

Every day, 29-year-old Anjali Thulung reports to work at the Armed Police Force. She is a familiar face around Halchowk, one always lit with a sunny smile.

But her life has not been a bed of roses. At 14, she ran away from home. What followed was a relationship gone wrong and a series of personal tragedies. But Anjali was determined to climb back on her feet.

Today, the young woman finds renewed purpose, juggling two careers and finding a new love in her life. But the past continues to weigh like a heavy yoke. Like the lyrics in the song “I Have a Dream”, Anjali continues to work towards a dream home she can call her own.

Timothy Tay is a Singaporean and an IT professional. His love for photography was sparked by a trip to Africa, where he witnessed pain and suffering but had no way to express it.
