Raising Nikita

When Nischal and Nirmala met in Kathmandu ten years ago, they were surprised how similar their fates were.

Both of them had lost their mothers when they were young. They both came to Kathmandu in search of a better life, and ended up working as Lok Dohari performers in a restaurant, partly due to their unusually short stature.

Three years ago, the couple tied the knot and had a baby girl. They named her Nikita. To provide the best for their only child, Nirmala works as an office assistant in the day, while Nischal works as a singer at night, so that someone is always there for Nikita.
